about
I wrote this song several years ago and went back later and changed the chorus. Now the title doesn't make much sense anymore but I like it like this.
lyrics
I'm broken on the surface
But my lungs won't give in
They're holding on to the idea
That some day we might win
But if they had the eyes to see the mess I left
They wouldn't be so brave
My heart will keep on beating
To the rhythm of your breath
Even after you told me
"Just follow them instead"
But if you had the emotion to feel or understand
You wouldn't be so brave
It's funny how we break our legs with every time we fall
And risk our dreams for someone new, it could've been us all
And I'm not one to talk, I know
But I'm not a machine
I learned to live and let go
Find myself stuck between
The intro and the aftershow
A mind troubled with problems
That you keep on trying to hide
Won't you put your trust in me
And let me inside?
If you didn't have your way to paint a mask
You wouldn't stand so tall
You tell me "it's okay dear,
It's my own to fix"
But I have seen you wounded
It was nothing, not like this
If you didn't have your way to paint this mask
You wouldn't be so small
It's funny how we break our legs with every time we fall
And risk our dreams for someone new, it could've been us all
And I'm not one to talk, I know
But I'm not a machine
I learned to live and let go
Find myself stuck between
The intro and the aftershow
It's funny how we break our legs with every time we fall
And risk our dreams for someone new, who could've been us all
And I'm not one to talk, I know
But I'm not a machine
I learned to live and let go
Find myself stuck between
The intro and the aftershow
The aftershow
Oooooooh... :)
